Linda Kash plays Deborah Jones, antagonist Frank’s estranged wife and the scheming restaurant mommyger/new owner of the Sloppy Jones Grill where the protagonists work.

Unfortunately Linda Kash, Colin Mochrie and Emily Cohn were all working out of town that week and could not celebrate in Toronto.

The Canadian Screen Awards

The Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) bring together the screen-based industry annually to celebrate the country’s honoured achievements in the film, television and digital sectors in Canadian Screen Week. The CSAs are presented by The Academy ofCanadian Cinema & Television, Canada’slargest non-profit professional media arts organization in Canadawith over 4,000 members. The Academy is dedicated to developing, recognizing, celebrating, and advocating for Canadian talent in the film, television, and digital media sectors. Members of the Academy vote from a long list of submissions from their peers. The Digital Media Section was particularly competitive

The Award Ceremonies were held over several days and nights at Meridian Hall in Toronto from April 11–14, 2023, as part of Canadian Screen Week. The Digital Awards were an intimate independant affair held Thursday at lunchtime. Highlights of the ceremonies aired in a CBCTelevision special on April 16, 2023, hosted by Samantha Bee.

Thank you to Linda Kash and all our incredible Mentors, Exec Producers, Cast and Crew. And thank you to our amazing supporters OUTtv and Ontario Creates. It was great to see their team at the Awards cheering on the diverse web series they support.

The team members were in amazing company, and got to network with such talent – so many brilliant creators and performers. They were thrilled to see Sloppy Mentor and Director of Episode 6, Winnifred Jong, win best Director of a Web Series for Tokens.

Hop To It was also incredibly proud to see Lamar Johnson, who was in dance series Pop It! with Sophie and Jamie from Sloppy Jones many many years ago, win best Performer for the Feature Film Brother.
