Susan Nation is thrilled to be one of 10 Canadian Producers selcted for the Canada France Co-Production Lab at Series Mania in Lille France from March 20-24th 2023.
Susan will be pitching the new dramedy TV series Le Balcon she co-created with award-winning veteran Australian TV Talent Paul Melville and looking for potential French co-producers.
The series is set in and around Paul’s iconic B & B in Sauveterre-de-Béarn – https://www.chambresdupontdelalegende.com/ and is very loosely inspired by his first year moving to France, impusively buying the stunning shabby chic Inn, and trying to run it, find love and solve a murder mystery.
Susan has Canadian/US/UK comedy icon Colin Mochrie, EP and star of Sloppy Jones, on board to play the lead character and punch up scripts. It’s like Faulty Towers meets White Lotus meets Escape to the Chateau with a few fun twists. It should have strong French and international appeal.
Bilingual Congolese Canadian Lory Mpiana, who plays Cassie Ley in Sloppy Jones, is also on board for creative input and a lead role.
