Toronto, October 5, 2023 – Hop To It Productions is thrilled to announce its participation in MIPCOM 2023, where the company is nominated for a Content Innovation Award for queer slasher comedy Sloppy Jones.
Hop To It will also be presenting a slate of comedies and factual projects in development for kids supported by the Canada Media Fund and Ontario Creates. These include:
Northern Nightingales – A Live-Action Choir Dramedy Series for tweens and families.
This uplifting series follows the journey of 14-year-old singer and social media star Grace as she navigates life in a new country, reconnects with her family, makes friends IRL and discovers her true voice. We see the comedic Filipino immigrant POV of triple threat TV/TikTok star co-creator Isabel Kanaan (Abroad, Air Farce, Sloppy Jones) who moved to Canada as a teen.

Petronie – A Preschool Animated Comedy 12 x 5 mins
This delightful preschool animated series follows the journey of the ultimate “Pet Protector”, 7 year-old Petronie, who moves from Africa to Canada and a new school. After a difficult start, she quickly finds friends when she starts an after-school Pet Club where #it’scooltobekind. It turns out the school pets can talk and they demand to be heard. The kids and pets laugh, solve problems, art, occasionally fart and always have fun together.

ABC Animal Adventures – An Educational Live-Action Preschool Series- 12 x 5 mins
ABC Animal Adventures combines education and entertainment in a fun-filled preschool series designed to help young viewers learn their ABCs. Each episode features iconic live-action animal characters and kids in a game of “I Spy with an Eagle Eye”.
