2024 Kids’ Slate

Northern Nightingales

A kids and family live-action dramedy series about a young Filipina singer who immigrates to Canada with her Mom and eventually starts to find her voice with the Northern Nightingales competitive local youth choir.

Marisol

A pre-school animation series for kids ages four to six about a six year-old Colombian girl immigrating to Canada, starting a new school and finding fun and friends (including some cheeky talking class pets) in an afterschool club.

We met lovely Colombian Camila and her partner from Team Toon Studio at Kidscreen.

We are thrilled to announce that we are impressed with their TukuToon videos and channel that we plan to work together on this adorable project. It’s the perfect co-production opportunity.

Baby Animal Rescue Adventures/Green Heroes Jr

Live-action documentaries about young activists like Cailan (Muskoka Girl) and sanctuaries rescuing some of the cutest orphans you’ve ever seen and sending them back to the wild where they belong.

Animal Rescue A BEE C’s

Series of shorts mixing live-action footage and animation introducing preschoolers to various rescued animals and letters (eg B and Bears) with Princess Bee.

The kids’ industry is in terrible shape in Canada and many countries around the world with very few green lights sadly. Being savvy about digital, community building, and international collaborations make more sense than ever. AI is progressing super fast so we need to understand the implications.

We made the most of the event, had lots of excellent meetings and caught up with friends and colleagues. Hopefully 2025 will bring more opportunities and $.
