Hop To It Productions is looking for singers/actors to join the Northern Nightingales Choir and fill roles in our new scripted live-action musical dramedy in development.
Story
When a talented 13-year-old girl immigrates to Canada from the Philippines to join her Mom after 5 years apart, she must overcome major culture shock and try to forge a successful life in a strange (and cold) new home. Can she reconnect with family, make friends and find her true voice when she joins the Northern Nightingales Competitive Choir? Or will her ambition and her tuyo get in the way?

Video/s- self tape
We want to see and hear you singing without music or other distractions. Please introduce yourself then sing a song that shows your ability and range (you can sing along to music but use headphones so we just hear you). If you can sing some scales as well, great.
Horizontal videos are preferred, but vertical will be accepted. See some tips here on doing a good professional-looking self-tape (even with limited resources or experience).
You have various options to send us the video.

Timing
Please submit everything by December 18th.
We plan to film a teaser video by end of January 2023 and film the series late summer 2023 with rehearsals prior.
Location
Seeking submissions from Ontario Permanent Residents only because of our funding rules. We will be filming in or near Toronto. Furture choir performances and promotion may require travel.

Classical Singing/Music Training an advantage but not a prerequisite to audition. Include in your CV.
Strong Acting will be required but a great voice is the priority – experience an advantage but not a prerequisite to audition. Include in your CVC.
Casting will be totally at the discretion of the Producer/s, Casting Director/s and Creative Team based on the creative vision for the film, the quality of the audition. Only call backs will be contacted.
- Photos must be in JPEG, JPG, TIFF or BMP format and shall not exceed 2 MB.
- Photos and Videos must be original and must be your property and should not include images of anyone other than the applicant.
- Photos and Videos must be appropriate for family viewing and present content that, at the sole and entire discretion of the Producers, is suitable for the public at large.
- Photos and Videos must not, at the sole discretion of the Producers, contain scenes of a sexual nature, or scenes that are abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, or in any way inappropriate for family viewing.
- Photos and Videos must not, at the sole discretion of the Producers, contain scenes of a commercial nature that may be considered a product placement or an infringement (e.g. any accessories bearing trade names, marks or logos and which your Dog may be wearing, or branded items visible in the background).
- Photos and Videos must not contain works that are protected by copyright (other than those that belong to you)
- Photos and Videos may be submitted only once.
By entering this Casting Call, you consent to the use of their entry, first name, voice, statements, any photographs or other likenesses for publicity or informational purposes carried out by the Producers and/or its affiliated companies, advertising agencies in any medium or format without further notice or compensation in behind the scenes .
The Producers are collecting personal data about Submissions for the purpose of administering this Casting Call. No further marketing communications will be received unless explicit permission is provided. The Producers assume no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website at any time, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. The Producers reserve the right to cancel or suspend this Casting Call should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the Casting Call. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws.
